Faculty of Health Sciences has successfully initiated a CINEC Higher National Diploma (HND) Course in Nursing. It is a professional pathway for students who are seeking to obtain higher national qualifications up to degree level. Participants will greatly benefit from the experience of undergoing the educational programs offered by the Department of Health and Medical Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, CINEC Campus, Malabe. This Higher National Diploma is designed for students to as per the NVQ level 6 guidelines to develop a good understanding of professional nursing practice and the importance of applying the knowledge and skills into the practice in the professional nursing field in Sri Lanka and other countries. This program is designed as per the upcoming demand in professional nursing officers for the local and foreign job market.

This is a 4-year honors degree program offering the first time in Sri Lanka by the Faculty of Health Sciences in CINEC Campus Sri Lanka. This degree is designed for students to develop a good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, medical and health product management.
This degree is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and UGC in Sri Lanka. This degree is specifically designed to develop skills and gain knowledge in regulatory and managerial duties in the pharmaceutical industry in the world. You will be able to continue with pharmaceutical postgraduate studies in almost all developed countries and engage in working in this industry. In the last decade, the rapid growth of the pharmaceutical industry had diversified the roles and functions of the industrial and regulatory officers. This degree program will cover the areas of clinical knowledge, human body system and diseases, disease management, pharmaceutical manufacturing, drug development, clinical trials, drug marketing, quality assurance and distribution of drug products. Students who complete this degree program can engage in regulatory and managerial positions, drug designing scientists and clinical trial managers in the pharma industry in Sri Lanka and any other place in the world. They will be able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to design, plan and execute an appropriate research project in addition to the knowledge. Successfully completed General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level (A/L) (according to UGC criterion) with three passes in same sitting in Science stream; (Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences or Technology stream). Or

DIPLOMA OF MENTAL HEALTH CHC53315

This course is offered by Chisolm Institute, Australia in affiliation with CINEC Campus, Sri Lanka. It is designed to prepare students for employment in the field of Mental Health and psychology. This program covers all aspects of the role of a mental health worker who provide recovery oriented support for people with mental illnesses and psychiatric disabilities. You will also be getting the exposure to implementing community based programs and activities related to mental health, mental illnesses and psychiatric disabilities.
Mental Health program is structured with a strong emphasis on the skills and knowledge you need to work as a mental health worker in providing mental health services. Also, your legal and ethical responsibilities as a mental health professional will be focused during the program.
You will get hands on experience in working with people in a range of contexts such as community based non-government organizations, home based outreach, and center based programs, respite care, residential services, rehabilitation programs, clinical settings and organizational/work settings.
This program will support students to develop their academic skills and also encourages active learning by engaging with relevant and contemporary issues. You will also develop soft skills needed to support people with mental health issues.

DUAL QUALIFICATION IN CERTIFICATE III IN INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT (AGING AND DISABILITY SPECIALIZATION) – CHC33021 & CERTIFICATE IV IN DISABILITY SUPPORT – CHC43121

This course will prepare you for employment in this industry as a direct support worker. It covers all aspects of support work for people living who are elderly, or, with intellectual and physical disabilities within a residential facility, a community services organization that provides ageing and/or disability services. You may also be working with people in their own home and community providing one-on-one support
This course will provide you with the knowledge skills and practice you need to support the personal care, wellbeing and daily activities of clients in need of specialized care. You will work learn how to be person centered, and support clients to develop individualized care plans. We focus on your legal and ethical responsibilities; how to provide personalized support and the empowerment of people who are elderly and/or are living with a disability.
To complete this course, you will need to deal with the physical demands of personal care and be able to demonstrate genuine compassion and empathy towards others.
You will also develop strategies for communicating with people who have complex communication needs and learn how to support the skill development of an elderly person, and a person with a disability. Throughout the course, you’ll build up valuable skills that are necessary for working in the healthcare industry, from providing individual support to communicating with clients, colleagues, management and other industry providers.
You will be required to industry (work) placement over the course of your studies as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the Units of Competency.

This is a structured comprehensive foundation program/course for all those who wish to study and obtain the essential body of knowledge and training in the basic theories and principles for children with learning disabilities. This course is essential for practicing primary and secondary school teachers, special education teachers, trainee teachers, assistant teachers and teacher aides and other teacher training and psychology students who want to broaden their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of educational psychology, or also for those who wish to embark on further academic and/or professional studies and practical training in the field of advanced Educational Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Teacher Training, Education Management and Pedagogy in Sri Lanka or abroad.
